Cigarillos are smoked the same way you might smoke a premium cigar: slowly, without inhaling and without much need for any of the usual cigar accessories - like a cutter, or scissors -associated with larger cigars. We're often asked how and why they're different, and how to smoke cigarillos; more than anything, it comes down to your preference. Cigarillos are often sold as individually wrapped little cigars. Peel off the outer layer of cellophane, and place one end (often, it's tapered) in your mouth. With an evenly applied flame from a lighter or match, toast the open end - called the foot - until the entire surface is lit and glowing reddish orange. Then, puff - but don't inhale! Roll the smoke around in your mouth, then blow it out slowly. Repeat about once every minute or so. Expect a cigarillo to have about 15 minutes of total smoking time, and pace yourself. They may be small, but they're meant to be savored and enjoyed just the same as large cigars. When you're done, simply rest the cigarillo in your ashtray and let it extinguish itself.
